"¿Es usted parte de alguna tribu o culto?"

V.I.S.A. es una pieza hecha para provocar en el espectador una mezcla incómoda entre repetición consciente y escrutinio pesado.

Confronta al espectador con un conjunto de preguntas protocolares que las embajadas de los Estados Unidos de América hacen a cualquier persona interesada en la emisión de una Visa. Acaso un rito de pasaje internacional para el cual resulta pertintente considerar si el entrevistado posee un dominio de las artes marciales israelíes; si tiene un historial de asesinatos presidenciales o si ha traficado con tejidos humanos.

Al final, V.I.S.A. se trata de reconocer estas importantes cuestiones no a una bandera / nación , ni a una madre / padre, sino a algo mucho menos indulgente : el propio corazón. Se recomienda revisitar V.I.S.A. regularmente : si no acaso por la tranquilidad que ofrece, sí al menos por la respuesta automática que produce.

"Are you part of a clan or tribe?"

V.I.S.A. is a work made to instill into the viewer an uncomfortable mixture of both mindful repetition and tiresome scrutiny.

It confronts him/her with the set of protocol questions all United States of America’s embassies ask to anyone interested in issuing a Visa. A rite of international passage for which matters like proficiency in Israeli martial arts, history of presidential assassinations and human tissue trafficking are a big ‘no,no’. 

In the end, V.I.S.A. is about acknowledging these important matters not to a flag/nation, nor to a mother/father, but to something much less forgiving: one’s heart. It is advised to revisit V.I.S.A. regularly: if not for the peace of mind it offers, at least for the automated response it ensues.
